PLayers to Watch
Jonsson-Fjallby (BUF)
The newest member of the Sabres will make his preaseason debut for the team with a big opportunity in front of him.
The 2016 5th round pick of the Capitals was claimed off waivers and joins a Sabres team that’s looking for an infusion of youth and speed. Jonsson-Fjallby brings that, and he is excited about the chacne to get an opportunity to succeed.
He scored 10 goals in the AHL last year, and will try to earn a spot on the Sabres roster.
JJ Peterka (BUF)
JJ Peterka has been a brightspot, scoring twice in the preseason and really showing why the Sabres traded up to get him.
He has made a strong impression this camp and even if he doesn’t crack the final roster, he has given the team and the fans reason to be optimistic about his future.
Jack Quinn (BUF)
Jack Quinn hasn’t had the best preseason, but this game is a chance to show why he’s lasted through the first two rounds of cuts. Quinn has to show some signs of life in order to keep fans optimistic about his season.
Goalie Battle
There’s two goalie battles tonight. The Sabres will face Casey DeSmith and try to get some pucks past him tonight, but the other goalie battle is happening in the Sabres’ crease.
Dustin Tokarski and Aaron Dell are splitting the game tonight, and both are vying for the 2nd and final roster spot available in Buffalo.
So far Tokarski has been teh better goalie in the preseason, but Dell has a chance to prove he’s worthy of the backup role in Buffalo.
Puck drop is tonight at 7 pm and will be available on MSG.
