Sabres Prospects Notebook 10-14-19

Games Below From 10/7/2019 – 10/13/2019
  • After a blazing start with Lethbridge (WHL), Dylan Cozens cooled off a bit, scoring 2 goals in 3 games but he is clearly the team leader.  He is setting himself up well to play big minutes at the World Junior Tournament for Canada this year.
  • Linus Weissbach playing with Alex Turcotte and Cole Caufield went as expected with Weissbach collecting 4 assists this weekend.  Playing alongside these types of teammates are sure to inflate his numbers a bit for this year but it’s encouraging that he’s able to keep up and perform with such high end talent.
  • Oskari Laaksonen chipped in 2 assists after a relatively slow start to the season for him.
  • Tage Thompson continued his strong start to the season in Rochester, picking up 3 assists and also the shootout game winner on Sunday to cap a 3-2 Amerks win.
  • Erik Portillo played just one game and was not tested much, averaging just 20 shots against through 3 games.  He remains a perfect 3-0-0 on the year with a .933 Save %.
  • Linus Cronholm fresh off a suspension scored 1 goal and 1 assist in 2 games of action with Karlskrona in the Allsvenskan league.

  1. Weissbach had 5 assists…3 on Friday, 2 on Saturday.

Nyberg and Glotov aren’t really prospects anymore.

    1. Per USCHO and Elite Prospects, both have Weissbach with 4 assists through 2 games so I am basing it off of those numbers. Nyberg/Glotov were included as they are still considered part of the system but I do think they are aging and looking very bleak as potential contributors to the big squad.
