The Sabres used some different D-pairings at practice but Krueger said not to read into it for tonight, so it’s assumed they will use the same pairing as the last game.
Blue Jackets Lines:
Nyquist – Dubois – Atkinson
Texier – Wennberg – Bjorkstrand
Foligno – Jenner – Bemstrom
Milano – Nash – Lilija
Werenski – Jones
Murray – Savard
Gavrikov – Nutivaara
Joonas Korpisalo
3 Things to watch:
#1 – The Sabres Fourth Line
Through two games this season the line of Girgensons-Larsson-Okposo have looked downright dominant at times.
Larsson, no longer being hindered by constant d-zone starts, has looked very good through two games, while Okposo and Girgensons have also had two impressive games.
Okposo scored against the Devils, and Girgensons picked up an assist on the goal. While Larsson hasn’t recorded a point yet, the line as a whole has looked very impressive (each player has a +70% CF% through 2 games).
Sabres hot PP
The Sabres powerplay has been really good to start the season.
Through two games the Sabres 4/6 on the powerplay, 1/2 against Pittsburgh and 3/4 against the Devils.
Olofsson scored two PP goals against New Jersey and it seems that he will get every chance to score on the powerplay because Eichel and the rest of PP1 seem to feed him the puck at will.
HE’S HUNGRY! 🍽

Columbus’s shaky start
The Blue Jackets have given up 11 goals in their two losses this season, they haven’t looked that impressive, but no opponent should be overlooked, especially 2 games into the season.
Buffalo has scored 10 goals in their two wins, and should look to pounce on Columbus early and often as starting goalie Joonas Korpisalo gave up 4 goals on 29 shots in his lone start this season.
