Hello All!
I’d like to start by offering my sincerest gratitude to the team here at The Charging Buffalo for welcoming me into the fold. I’ll try my absolute best to post as much quality content as possible, on topics such as Prospect Reports, Potential/Current Roster Moves, Draft/Free Agency Coverage, Post Game Reviews/Reactions and other oddball stories that are sure to arise once the 2018-19 season gets underway this Friday in Dallas at the Entry Draft.
Speaking of the Draft, the Buffalo Sabres hold the 1st overall pick, and are expected to select Swedish defenceman Rasmus Dahlin . There’s no doubting his undeniable talents, which have drawn close comparisons to the likes of Erik Karlsson and Nicklas Lidstrom . While every Sabres fan is enthralled with winning the Draft Lottery for the first time since 1987 when Buffalo drafted Pierre Turgeon, the certain addition of Dahlin brings a sense of excitement to the 716. Adding to a core which boasts names like Jack Eichel, Rasmus Ristolainen, Ryan O’Reilly, and Sam Reinhart amongst others, Dahlin’s breathtaking two-way style of play will be a welcome change.
The Sabres lacked in several aspects across the board last season, speed and scoring from the point being two of the larger issues. Dahlin will quickly offer a solution to those problems. Not only will Dahlin’s talents be noticeable to the team and its fans, he also brings a winning attitude into the locker room, another aspect the Sabres have lacked heavily in previous seasons. Dahlin, coupled with the nucleus Buffalo already has, and future moves GMJB plans on making, should have the Sabres in contention for a playoff spot as early as this season, barring any unforeseen injuries or wild scenarios.
In final, I’d like to thank the guys at TCB for welcoming me to the staff, and I look forward to posting a lot more blogs in the near future. If you have any comments on this post, or topics you’d like to see me blog about, feel free to drop me a line on Twitter! My handle is @paulzuk_81. I’m always up for a debate over hockey topics we have zero control over!! 🙂
Look forward to hearing from you!
